Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
AdmitStats (admitstats.com) is an independent project that publishes U.S. college admissions statistics built from public federal data. This page explains what limited data we collect when you visit, and your choices. It is written to be plain and honest; it is general guidance, not legal advice.
Information we collect
- No personal information, directly. There are no accounts, logins, sign-up forms, comments, or newsletters on this site. We do not ask for or store your name, email, or similar details.
- Usage analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic — for example which pages are popular, roughly where visitors come from (country/region, derived from IP address, which Google truncates), and general device/browser type. This is collected via cookies and is used only in aggregate to improve the site.
- Standard server logs. Our host (Cloudflare Pages) may process basic request data such as IP address and user-agent to serve pages and protect against abuse, as described in Cloudflare's own privacy policy.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies (for example _ga) to distinguish visitors and measure usage. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site works normally without them.
How we use the data
Only to understand how the site is used and to make it better — which content is helpful, where performance can improve, and how people find us. We do not sell data, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
Third parties
- Google Analytics — analytics. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare — hosting and content delivery. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
Your choices
- Block or clear cookies in your browser, or use a private/incognito window.
- Install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Enable "Do Not Track" or a tracking-blocker extension in your browser.
Data about colleges
The statistics shown on this site come from public U.S. Department of Education (IPEDS) datasets and institutional Common Data Sets. That is data about institutions, not about you — see our data sources and methodology.
Children
This site is an information resource intended for a general audience, including prospective college students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the site has no features that request it.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above.
